Womanly Dominion-MOM

"Stay at home moms maybe underpaid , but they're certainly not under challenged! It is a profession of diversified adventures and borderless frontiers!" ie

24 hour mothering
chef and house keeper
managing a domestic budget
chauffeur
scheduling a complex calender
educating a diverse student body
a consultant and helper to her husband
nutritionist
nurse
counselor
home decorator
seamstress
gardener
thrifty money saving shopper
the and list goes on...............

I can honestly say in almost 30 years of marriage and domestic engineering I have never been bored or under- challenged in caring for my husband , children. and home.I cherish my God given role and delight in full-filling it and I am so proud of you my girls for the way you love and serve your husbands and children in your homes. At times it is challenging and even hard and sometimes thankless but your Heavenly Father sees all and "What ever you sow you will reap" and one day your will hear Him say "Well done my good and faithful servants" Love you

I recently picked up this cd from the church bookstore in an effort to get a little more scripture in my kids heads. And while tle the kids are loving it, low and behold guess who is the one crying in the front seat while driving down the road while listening to it? :) Guess mommy needed more scripture in her head too, hee hee.

While the tunes are geared towards little ones I find that shouting "I want to be like Jesus!" and "Good and gracious, you never change!" is actually really great for adults too :)

Since I keep this in the car and that's usually when I'm about ready to lash out irrationally at someone, my current favorite is "Give me Self-Control" - "Lord, I'm needy, so I'm pleading, Come and fill me, Help me to be self-controlled".

Yikes, I'm such a mom :)

And look who I found while looking for the cd pick? Uncle Jonathan! Drew thought that was hilarious for some reason....

The lord is my Portion Lamintations 3:24 MOM

Our God is a suitable portion. No object is as suitable to the heart as He is. He is a portion that is exactly suited to the condition of the soul in its desires , needs, wants, longings, and prayers. All the soul needs is found in God. there is light to enlighten the soul ,wisdom to counsel the soul , power to support the soul, ,goodness to supply the soul, mercy to pardon the soul, beauty to delight the soul, and fullness to fill the soul” No earthly portion can suit an immortal soul. It is capable of union with and communication with with God. It enjoys God now and in all eternity. Nothing can satisfy the soul without God. God is thus the most excellent portion suitable to the soul" Voices of the Past

May He be your most excellent portion this day and everyday! I t is cold outside today but I pray your souls would be warmed by the fire of our excellent portion Our God and Savior. Kathy
