A few favorites as of late.....

Thought I'd share a few things that I've been enjoying as of late....

These delightfully cute and surprisingly supportive nighties, I mean if you spend the majority of your life in your pajamas, they might as well be cute ones!

This yummy and very easy Thai Basil Curry recipe, make it with chicken or shrimp. My Sous Chef, Margo, and I served it with "Bun" one of our favorite asian noodle salads, although we added snow peas and sliced mango to ours.

Some great ideas from a book Cole sent Loving the Little Years, Motherhood in the Trenches, like being "Thanksters" not "Cranksters" - drew and I have a very long and very detailed story about "Crankville" and "Thankville", so fun. The book is full of practical and refreshing ideas for this season of being down in the "trenches" of motherhood :)

This one is hard to admit. Okay, as much as I believe in eating real food. Like, come on! I love simple carbs and since I'm basically going to be starving every five minutes until I'm done nursing Eli, this incredible-completely-unhealthful-simple-worth-nothing-cracker is my new favorite! All the crunch of a pretzel, all the buttery softness of a ritz, yum. Especially in the afternoon with a glass of Shiraz :)

Just got this cute swim top, Target has some really cute Tankini's this year and thanks to Mobile Coupons and the clerk who didn't know how to process it correctly, I got $6 off! haha, awesome

Okay, back to trenches :)

Spring!

Its spring around here! We've been busy with birthdays, gardens, grilling and lots of outside time! Eli is exactly like Drew was at this age, happy as a clam if he is outside, we just stick him on a blanket and he will stay out there forever! Drew got really into the garden this year, including digging "irrigation" (like the Indians he says), Bella not so much but she did come out to show us her new outfit every five minutes and plant her flowers.

Women 4 Truth Conference

Wow was a great conference not only were the speakers excellent, the worship was heavenly lead by Tera Daukaus, even the decorations and beautiful gift baskets were beautiful and well thought out. Carolyn McCully spoke from her heart and deep well of knowledge on the effects of feminism in our culture and even in our churches. I came home with two fresh convictions that I desire to put into practice right away in my life. The first one providing a place in my home and in my church where men do not have to be tempted by lust. Dressing modestly for God's glory and to serve the men in our church and where ever I am. Secondly to use my home even more as a place for hospitality and a place to share the gospel to those who do not know Our Savior and secondly to nurture those who know Him in HIs word. I want to grow in being a counselor of God's word. So keep me accountable my girls and seek to grow in these areas also as you are training your young daughters to be Titus 2 women of God.

Picnic style lunches ~Timarie

I really like packing lunches :) Everything fits so nicely into a small area. They are planned ahead. Each part of it is organized (protein, fruit, dessert, drink, etc.). They are planned ahead. They look really tidy and neat. They are planned ahead. They can be simple or ornate. They are planned ahead. And they often take resourcefulness like making leftovers taste good, or grabbing 6 different things you'd never usually eat together, but they'll work for a packed lunch.

Anyways, just thinking about this as I packed a lunch, actually more like dinner for myself and co-workers for tonight! ~Timarie

Dryer Broke but I kinda like it ~Timarie

It makes me feel more domestic to hang my laundry out anyways :) If the dryer stays broken, or whenever I have my own house, I'm definitely going to have a clothes line as well! And living in Arizona, I think my laundry actually gets done more quickly anyways! ~Timarie

In honor of it being Spring... ~Timarie

I bought myself flowers today from TJ's! :) They are a deep rich purple and you can't see the deep blue ones cause they haven't bloomed yet, but when they do I'll post a picture! They guy at the register asked "so who are the flowers for?" and I simply responded "umm... myself actually" :) He smiled and said "that's awesome"!

Camo, Guns, and Fighting :) ~Timarie

While watching the kids yesterday while Bec was at work we decided to play war. I was assigned by Drew to wear the "army pack-pack" (camo backpack), which I actually really enjoyed wearing and might have to borrow :) Bella trailed alongside with a squirt gun, and we took on Drew who had a sword with sound effects!!! Quite an adventurous afternoon of sword fights, war zone, and kunfu fighting.

Lunchtime with Lyla and Georgia--Nicole

My lunches for the girls and I have been shaped by 3 different things lately:
1) We need to eat more veggies
2) They don't like "normal" lunch things
3) I can't make 2 different meals: one for them and one for me and still be sane by evening time.

So...mix that with Lyla's new love of picnics and you get "ta-da" our lunches as of late. I'm slightly shocked by how healthy they are and how much my girls enjoy this lunch. Now before you go thinking that my girls are super weird, know that I did warm them up to this and force them to eat much of this for many days. But now, they get really excited about "crunchies." Which is what Lyla calls anything that she's allowed to make a loud crunching noise while eating.

A few tips:

1) Slice super thin and small at first
2) Give them these items (just a couple of each) as much as possible and withhold any fruit until they are eaten
3) Make it fun. We have daily crunching contests and try to make "smiles" out of our veggies too.

Now before you go thinking I'm some sort of healthy supermom, know that we've also been to in-n-out, had hotdogs and macarooni, and chips and guacamole for lunch in the past two weeks as well. But I had to start somewhere right?

Hair... Side Braid :) ~Timarie

So, whether you just got out the shower and have to rush off to do something quickly:

Or you have a couple seconds to straighten the top and bottom, but not the whole thing:

Or it's loose and frizzy :)

All are easy and fun and makes for quick but chic hair-do's :) Try it!
