Southwest Shrimp and Corn Chowder

Nothing like a bowl of tasty hot soup and fresh sourdough bread on a cold evening

2 T butter
1c chopped onion
1/2c chopped red pepper
1 chopped jalapeno
1 can green chilies(I use 1/4c fresh )
3T flour
1 1/2 c milk
1 1/2 c chicken broth
1 1/2c Southern style hash browns
1/2t salt
1tsp cumin
1 can corn
1lb peeled deveined shrimp or chicken
2T fresh cilantro

Melt butter in Dutch oven over med heat add onion pepper and jalapeno saute 2 minutes until tender and chilis add flour cook 1 min. Stir in milk and nest 5 ingredients bring to a boil then turn down add shrimp cook until done and remove from heat Serve with cilantro as a garnish on top. Enjou
